Whiteboard Wednesday: Why does resting heart rate decrease?

Every day my inbox is full of emails from athletes asking questions about their training. Often these questions are about complex physiology concepts that are difficult to answer in an email or even an extend blog post or article.

So what I am going to do is each week, I will take one of these questions, break out the whiteboard step you through the answer with the help of some diagrams. I have found that that this is one way to help people really grasp some of the complex training concepts that are asked about.
