Unlock Your Hip Flexors

The number one problem I come across with endurance athletes is tight hip flexors. This leads to a whole host of problems such as lower back pain on the bike, restricted stride length when running and niggly reoccurring injuries in the knees and hamstrings.

It is something that I personally have to work hard on to keep my body functioning properly. Following the Tour of Aotearoa I experienced a lot of issues with my knees and lower back which all were a results of my SUPER tight hip flexors (3000km of riding over 10 days will do that).

So with hip flexors that resembled steel cables, I set to work on trying all of my usual approaches to attack tight hip flexors. But nothing seemed to be working so I started to do some research into other ways to improve hip flexor function. As I dug up new pieces of information I started to put together a new training information package to help all the other athletes I KNOW suffer from tight hip flexors affecting their performance.

During my research I came across the Unlock Your Hip Flexors plan.

Now I am a very sceptical guy when it comes to online plans and am very selective about who I take advice from. However, when I read the plan is designed by kinesiologist and injury specialist Rick Kaselj, MS who serves as a resource for fitness and health professionals my interest was sparked. Rick gives live presentations across the US and Canada and helps people with joint pain, leg pain, back pain, and injuries in general. This was enough for me to give it a go and I purchased that plan and got stuck in.

As I read and got into the plan more I learnt a lot about the hip flexors that I didn't actually know and performing the plan for 2 weeks finally sorted out the issues I was having with my hip flexors.

This was brilliant for a couple of reasons

Firstly I had no more pain or problems with my lower back or knees. Secondly I did not have to invest a bunch of time in creating my own hip flexor resource as it had already been done really, really well and I have started using it with a number of the athletes I train with great results.

Why it works

I must admit I am not a big fan of 'stretching'. It hurts and I never seem to have time to commit to it. But with this plan I set the goal of going through the 11 min 'follow along' video once a day. Having this very specific goal and time commitment made it easier to get it done. However, I will be honest. Life being life, I did not end up doing it every day or the full session every time but still gained the results I was after.

I put this down to the mixture of targeted PNF Stretching, Dynamic Stretching, Static Stretching, 3-Dimensional Core Stability Exercises, Mobility Exercises and Fascia Stretching which work on so many different aspects of the hip flexor function. Coupled with the correct sequencing of the exercises to give the biggest return for your time investment.

At only $9 USD this package is such great value for money and even better there is a money back grantee if it does not stack up to your expectations.

So if you are like 95% of endurance athletes I work with and your hip flexors could do with some work check out Unlock Your Hip Flexors here for your more in-depth look.

The sales page is a bit salesy and there are a few up-sells that you can click past but apart from that it is a great product.
